Opening Gifts on Christmas Day

Santa Claus has come to town with a sleigh/transport truck full of toys just for Chelsea. Lets just say that Chelsea must have been a very good girl this year because she got a lot of stuff for Chritsmas! Here are some of the pictures from Christmas morning. She had to open her gifts in two stages. First when she got there she was all dressed up. After a while, she got sleepy and hot (from the dinner being cooked) so we had to put her in a cool T-shirt and let her take a 10 minute nap (that is usually the length of her naps anyways)..... Here are some pictures.....

Christmas Eve Night

True to Chelsea, she did not go to bed until late Christmas Eve night. Chelsea has been doing good lately as she normally goes to bed around 11:30 or 12:00 here lately. Now Christmas Eve, when children are to go to bed early - well she decided that she was not tired. (This is not uncommon for Chelsea).... Anyways, these pictures of Chelsea in her bed were taken at 10 minutes to 1 on Christmas Eve Night..... Isn't she the cutiest little girl that you have EVER seen?

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve has got to be my favorite day of the entire year! I LOVE Christmas Eve!!!!!! Anyways, this year Christmas Eve was perfect! I got one of my favorite Christmas presents early in the night. My Grandmother did not want to attend church becasue everyone else would be with their families and she would be there alone because she goes to a different church then the rest of the family. She goes to church every week without exception and is very involved in the church, but would not go on Christmas Eve because none of her family would go with her! But, Barry, Chelsea and I decided to surprise her and go with her. She was thrilled with that! But on top of that my brother and his girlfriend decided to go too. What a surprise for her!!!!!! She was so happy, but could not believe that we were all there! Just the look on her face when we all walked in was Christmas present enough for me! She was so excited!!!!! She only has three grandchildren (me, my brother and Chelsea) in NL and we were all sitting there with her!

Then we went back to dads and some of the neighbours came over to see us (mostly Chelsea, I think). Then we all went to a party at another neighbours house. My dad has the coolest neighbours in the entire world! Then we went to Barry's parents house. Quite a night - we did not get home until a little after 12:00..... and Chelsea did not go to bed until after 1am.....

Did I mention that I love Christmas Eve?

Merry Christmas!

Its Christmas Time and we are soooo excited! Santa Claus is coming to town TONIGHT! Chelsea is doing well again now. We were in emergency on Friday night for a few hours because Chelsea had a seizure that lasted for an hour and 10 minutes. Because the seizure did not progress past her waist and she was responsive they deicded not to give her any meds and just hook her up to the monitors and wait it out. This happened once before and it can either have a very good or a very bad outcome - it could be that her meds are borderline and not letting the seizure progress up her body or it could be that her body is rejecting the meds and things will get really bad. Anyways, she is doing really well again now....

On a happier note, her are some pictures of her in her Santa Hat... We are off to CBS to spent some time with family and friends....

Easter Seals Christmas Party

On Sunday, we went to the Easter Seals Christmas Party. We had a great time there chatting with old friends. Chelsea and I made a Christmas ornament, then we sang a few carols and then we had a visit from Santa Claus. Here are some pictures of it....

Nativity Reinactment Pictures

Here are some more pictures of the Nativity Reinactment done by Rainbow Riders. There are a couple of pictures there of Chelsea and her little friend Jenna who played the angel in the drama - isn't she the prettiest little angel! There are a few more of Chelsea and Barry - and yes, we had to sit on hay stacks in a barn - cool heh?

Nativity Reinactment

On Sunday, Barry, Chelsea and I went to the Nativity Reinactment at Rainbow Riders. It was magical and really demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas! We were all in a barn sitting on stacks of hay. The had musicians and a choir signing Christmas carols and then Collen Wells (chaplain at the hospital) read the Christmas story to which children acted. They had Mary ride in on a horse and they had other animals next to the nativity scene. Chelsea's friend Hannah was Mary and her friend Jenna was the angel. They did a great job! A Chat with Mr Claus

We took Chelsea to the mall on Saturday so she could meet Mr Claus.... She even got some pictures taken with the jolly old elf.....

Keeping Christ In Christmas!

Barry and I have been trying to get a nice picture of Chelsea for our Christmas cards.... but it is not working out very well. It has come to our attention that two year olds don't always cooperate when you want them too....!LOL. Anyways, I had wanted a picture of the true meaning of Christmas so after about an hour setting up an nativity scene and a couple of trips to the store, Chelsea decided that she was not in the mood to have her picture taken.... Here are the pictures of Chelsea anyways..... There is one there where she is smiling, but it is too grainy for cards..... Anyways, you will have to imagine what the pictures would have looked like with the saying "Please remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season...."
